Today's bright moments are tomorrow's fond memories

We had a great weekend. It started off with a girls night for Jessica's birthday, so the boys played in the sprinklers. Sat morning Gil had to work so Joseph and I went to the zoo, he loves the carousel! Sunday we went to church, lunch and then to the mall where we rode another carousel. We also bought a bike trailer so mommy and daddy can get some exercise with the little man in tow, Joseph just preferred to play in the box. We had lots of fun just hanging out!

Inspirational Thought for the day

The beauty of grace... is that it meets us where we are and gives us what we don't deserve.
Charles R. Swindoll

There is no way in the world God gave me these two boys becuase I deserved them, it was by God's love and grace!

No more goldy locks

So we finally did it, much to my chagrin, we got the first haircut. I sure hope each subsequent cut is easier, for me that is. Joseph was an angel. He laughed at the lady and sat very still (well, as still as can be expected by a one year old). He now looks like a big boy, no longer my baby. But my next question, what do I do with the hair they gave me? Put it in his baby book, bury it in the yard (wait that is the umbilical cord). Looks like I will just tape the little baggy in his baby book until I am told differently!

Catch Up

Ok, so I am really bad at this whole blogging thing. Here are two months of updates for everyone.
Easter- Easter was nice, Gil took a day off from studying and spent it with us. We had a really nice day, until the realator called. I was on my way home from the grocery store, and of course because I was hungry while shopping, I had one of the biggest car loads of groceries known to man. She was calling to tell me someone was in route to see the house, I asked her if she was aware it was Easter Sunday and she apologized but said they will be there shortly. Like any good Easter morning, there was Easter basket fillings all over the place, so Gil and I rushed through the house putting up the 200 bags of groceries and cleaned the house. We completed our chores in under 30 minutes (a record for us) and left the house to go to the park. (we have full veiw of our driveway from the park). After about an hour, we called our realator to tell her no one had showed. She apologized and tried to reach the other realator, but to no avail.
1st Birtday party- We celebrated Joseph's first birthday on the 12th of April. We had approx 30 adults and 15 kids, you can imagine what my house looked like, a regular three-ringed circus. We had a good time and Joseph racked up on goodies. No kids should have as many toys as he does. It is insane.
The Beach- We took our first family vacation at the end of April. We were so excited to try out the beach (I haven't been since Aruba). We drove to Seaside Florida with 3other couples and their kids. We had a great time, it was beautuiful there. Joseph loved the pool but could have given up the beach. The gulf was too cold so all he could do was play in the sand.

It goes too fast

I found a quote today that I just love:
"Dear Lord, Give me the wisdom not to waste all of this."
I am one of the world's worst at living today for tomorrow. I guess I need to slow down and really enjoy the 3 of us. He is only going to be little once and I would hate to miss a thing.

As I have said before, this year has flown by, I can't believe Joseph is turning one. We took his first birthday pictures on Good Friday, here are a few.
